After a five-day absence, Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown (quad) was back for the team walkthrough Tuesday morning. Coach Mike Tomlin said Brown won't practice today but will return to action after Thursday's preseason game against Philadelphia.Antonio Brown got some work at Steelers practice, and though it wasn't pain-free, he's getting closer to a full return to practices.
When the game’s best receiver is sent home from camp to not only have a lower body injury further evaluated, but to rest and take it easy, his return is certainly something of note.Brown didn’t practice with the team, as planned, but his progress of getting back on the field and doing individual work, as well as rehabilitation work, is a very positive step in the right direction.
“He’s getting closer to return, in terms of his health, but he won’t be playing in the game like some of the others who missed time because of a myriad of injuries,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said. “Whether it’s Bud Dupree in the protocol, or T.J. (Watt). He won’t play this week. We look forward to getting him back out there when we get back from Philadelphia.”
Brown, 30, is coming off an NFL-record fifth straight 100-catch season and rarely misses practice time.He missed five straight practices before Tuesday, when he did some minor work but did not go through a full practice.Antonio Brown Jersey .
It’s great to see Brown up and around. He also shared on his various social media that he was doing a bit of pool work after practice. It’s hard to gauge just how severe the injury is but fortunately, the team doesn’t need Brown to do anything but heal up at this point.
